Butch Cassidy

Butch Cassidy and the Law Firm

Think back to the popular movie, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Butch and Sundance keep asking each other "Who are those guys?"

"Those guys" were a group of U.S. Marshals, led by Joe LeFors, the U.S. Marshal from Wyoming, who tracked Butch and Sundance throughout the west.

Joe LeFors served with the United States District Clerk of the Court and Court Reporter, C.J. Ohnhaus.  In the picture above, Joe LeFors is at the far right and C.J. Ohnhaus is second from the right.  As he aged and prospered, C.J. Ohnhaus became a prominent and affluent citizen. In 1910, he built the historic C.J. Ohnhaus Residence and Carriage House near the State Capitol.

Jim and Sharon Fitzgerald purchased the property in 1986.  The new owners converted the residence into law offices.  Today, the building retains much of its old-fashioned charm as the U.S. Department of Interior, National Park Service approved the renovations.
